Do I need to book a place in a Dance Class before showing up?

YES, class sizes at Footsteps can vary so we advise giving us a call before coming down to make sure there is availability for you. If class sizes are full there is an option to go on a waiting list and when a space does become available you will be notified.

What do we wear to dance classes?

Here at footsteps we do have a uniform for classes, but we are not expecting anyone who has just started to go out and buy it all straight away. We suggest buying uniform after completing your first term with us that way you know it's something you want to continue on with.

In commercial, Lyrical and Tap dance classes we ask that dancers wear their footsteps t-shirts, Black leggings black socks and the correct footwear for the class.

In Ballet our pre-Primary and Primary classes wear a pale pink capped sleeve cotton leotard, a pale pink Georgette wrap around skirt, pink ballet socks and Full sole leather ballet shoes.

Our grade 1 and above students wear a sleeveless navy blue leotard with ballet tights and full sole leather ballet shoes.

How do we pay for classes?

When starting out with us, all classes will run on a pay as you go basis with us. This simply means you pay for the classes you come to on the day. After your first term most of our dance classes, we will ask you to block pay and this will be paid at the start of every half term. Our younger classes remain pay as you go for a little more flexibility.

Can I do more than one class a week?

All dancers are welcomed to participate in as many dance classes which are suited to their level and ability as they wish. Our full timetable of classes can be found on the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Do classes run all year round?

No, we tend to follow the trafford holiday calender. We break up for half terms and full terms these will be notified to you in class as and when they pop up in the year.

Would I be able to do Dance exams and Shows here?

Yes, Dance exam opportunities are offered in Ballet, Tap and Freestyle at present. Freestyle dance exams are open to all dancer aged 4+ Years which would like to participate and ballet and tap exams are offered to dancers aged 6+ Years and above.

Footsteps get involved in a lot of small and big shows around the north west. We try to give as many opportunities out to all our dancers to perform to a variety of audiences.

Do Parents Stay and watch?

Parents must stay with any of the starlets dancers, thats any dancer aged between 2-3 Years of age. All other classes we like parents to drop off and then come back to collect. If children are younger and just starting out with us,then if parents wish to stay for the first couple of weeks this is not an issue.
